Contact the Basic Education Office at your base to complete a Department of Defense Application for Educational Assistance. Completing this form will start you on your way to earning a degree.

Submit TA Forms After completing and signing the TA authorization form, you can fax, email, or bring the TA forms to your advisor. To make sure you're getting the most out of your tuition aid, check out the financial aid section.
Receive Registration Confirmation and Welcome Letter. Applications are processed within a week, but TA approval takes longer to process. Your registration confirmation and acceptance letter will be emailed to you once everything has been processed.
National University Is A Nonprofit Online School Created By A Veteran For The Military
Take an ACU Placement Test (First-time college students only). Please note: If you are a first-time college student, you must take the ACU Placement test either online or on-site within the first 30 days after your enrollment.
Once you have submitted your registration form, received your registration confirmation, and submitted your TA forms and payment, you can order your books, CDs, and any other course materials online at the Store University Degree.
The Army funds 100 percent of tuition costs with some incentives. Army tuition assistance is currently limited to 130 hours of undergraduate credit toward your bachelor's degree and 39 hours of graduate credit for all post-degree education. Additional school expenses such as textbooks are not covered under this program.
The Army TA is currently approved according to the type of courses taken. In addition, the courses you choose must be part of an approved degree program. (A few years ago, the Army added a provision that military personnel must have ten years of service before receiving tuition assistance for the next level program, such as a master's degree. If you use financial support for any part of your degree. ., you can't use it to get the same knowledge.)
Army Online College & Tuition Assistance
While on active duty, you may be eligible to apply for Army tuition assistance. If you are an enlisted soldier, warrant officer, or Army Unit Support Officer (TPU) (non-commissioned), the only requirement is to have a certain amount of time on active duty to complete your training at home -book.
If you are an officer or document support officer, you must have a two-year commitment to active duty in exchange for tuition assistance. Designated reserve officers and service support officers must commit to four years in the army reserves.
These service contracts begin on the date of the last class paid for by Army tuition assistance. Remember that if you are an employee who voluntarily resigned or was fired for misconduct, you must reimburse the Army for the tuition assistance you received for the hours of service you did not complete.
The Army encourages you to take advantage of these opportunities at any type of educational institution, including schools that offer online degrees. The only requirement is that the online school program must be accredited.

Although not a patriotic duty or way of looking at the world, military service opens many doors for those who wear it. One of the most common motivating factors for joining the military is education. The National University offers more than 75 degree programs and uses one-month classes designed for military students. For service members in the San Diego area, courses can be taken on site at the National University campus. The school also offers courses in more than a dozen military bases and online. In addition to military tuition discounts, National University offers specific scholarships such as the Sanford Military Scholarship. This scholarship covers all of the student's tuition fees after their tuition assistance, and any scholarships or grants are used.
